Tomatoes

In January, layered in our winter gear,
we begin to seed our first tomatoes.

In the warmth of the greenhouse, they germinate. With patience, we watch them as they are slow to grow into spring.

Getting further into the season, we transplant them out and guard them against a late-season frost. Pruned and cared for, the vines eagerly climb onward and upward towards the sun.

Timed beautifully with the onset of summer, our first juicy tomatoes are being harvested and given to the kitchen to set a new narrative capturing the flavors and textures that this season generously gifts us.
