Summer is upon us and there is nothing like a kayak trip on the Russian River to cool the hot July days. The Russian River runs through the north part of Sonoma county through wine appellations, small towns like Healdsburg, and out into the Pacific at Jenner. A day trip on the water from beautiful Forestville to the ocean lends views of verdant countryside, and an early start from Alexander Valley to downtown Healdsburg is sure to leave you ready for a relaxing afternoon with a cool beverage in hand.

Sonoma County is aligning with new methods of keeping ourselves and others healthy and safe. This includes mask-wearing in public places, constant and stringent personal hygiene, and distancing from others as needed. Expect to see masked faces in tasting rooms, restaurants, art galleries, and shops in Healdsburg, and be prepared with your own personal protective wear for entrance to these places as well. Though these are simple adjustments, we hope that kindness and courtesy reign in your interactions with the hospitality folks who help give Sonoma County its charm.

Advanced planning will in most cases be required for a more hands-on tasting experience, and we are here to help. Our concierge team is delighted to work with you in advance of your visit to set up appointments for tastings in Healdsburg and the entirety of Sonoma and Napa counties. Planning for cycling, river trips, and hiking in recently opened parks is also available. Most of all, the SingleThread family is thrilled to welcome both newcomers and return guests to share in the simple pleasures of a Sonoma County summer.
